Kimberly DeWitt, CEO/Chief Strategist, has accepted an invitation to join board of Poetry for Personal Power, a Kansas City based non-profit focused on advocacy and resilience within the mental health community.

From Kimberly: I am honored to be a part of a part of an integral organization that is using the creative space to foster avenues for anyone facing mental health issues. In the fast-paced society that we exist in, acknowledging the effects of mental wellness on the individual, as well as the collective, is often downplayed, dismissed,  or ignored. Organizations such as P3 play an important role in creating the safe spaces that our society needs to address mental wellness in a constructive, open, and progressive way. I look forward to contributing my vast skills and wisdom to this great organization.

About Poetry for Personal Power

Poetry for Personal Power (P3) is a nationally recognized advocacy organization and expert on trauma and resilience. Our mission is “Using art to show that emotional distress is temporary and transformative.” Under the roof of advocacy, we have 3 pillars which are arts, mental health, and social determinants. We believe that social determinants are a large factor in behavioral health outcomes and promote self-sufficiency, resource networks, and strong communities for people who experience mental distress. We contribute to the advancement of racial equity by teaching entrepreneurial skills, helping peers and artists to diversify income streams, and by teaching caregivers and organizations multi-cultural competencies.
